BEYONCÉ has made history with 11 Grammy nominations for her country album Cowboy Carter, the most ever received by a female artist in a single year.
With this achievement, she becomes the most-nominated artist in Grammy history, now holding 99 nominations—surpassing her husband, Jay-Z, with whom she had previously been tied at 88.
This year, Beyoncé is nominated for Album of the Year, Best Country Album, and Song of the Year for Texas Hold 'Em. Despite her 32 Grammy wins—more than any other artist—she has yet to secure the Album of the Year award.
Following Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Charli XCX, Post Malone, and Billie Eilish each received seven nominations, while Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter garnered six. Lamar, the most-nominated rap artist, faces fierce competition from Eminem and J. Cole.
Swift, who has won Album of the Year four times, will be one of Beyoncé’s primary competitors in that category for her breakup album The Tortured Poets Department, which spent 15 weeks at number one on the Billboard 200.
Earlier this year, Jay-Z highlighted Beyoncé’s lack of Album of the Year recognition while accepting a lifetime achievement award, stating: "I don't want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn't work. Think about that. The most Grammys; never won album of the year. That doesn't work."
The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 2, 2025.
