Denzel Washington gets baptised and receives ministry licence calling it his "greatest accomplishment"

DENZEL Washington has taken the next step in his faith journey after he was baptised on yesterday (Dec 21), at Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in New York City.

In addition to his baptism, Washington officially received his ministry licence, calling the moment his "greatest accomplishment."

The actor, known for his iconic roles in Hollywood, has long spoken about the importance of faith in his life, and this public declaration of his commitment to God marks a significant milestone in his personal and spiritual growth.

Growing up with a Pentecostal minister as a father, church and faith were central to Washington's upbringing. However, in recent years, he has often spoken about how his relationship with God has deepened as he’s gotten older. With emotion, he addressed the congregation during the service, saying, "It took a while, but I’m finally here… If [God] can do this for me, there’s nothing He can’t do for you. The sky literally is the limit."

The news of his baptism quickly gained attention online, with many fans praising his decision to share such a deeply personal moment. One fan commented, "He’s been doing the work. He’s just officially ordained. To God be ALL of the Glory."

In addition to his spiritual milestones, Washington continues to be active in Hollywood, with his upcoming role in Marvel's Black Panther 3 a highly anticipated project.
