“Gladiator II” is officially the highest-grossing movie of Denzel Washington's career earning over $320 million globally

DENZEL Washington has reached a major milestone in his legendary career, with Gladiator II officially becoming the highest-grossing film of his entire career.

The long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott's 2000 epic has not only impressed critics but also captivated audiences worldwide, earning over $320 million globally.

This surpasses the $267 million lifetime total of Washington’s previous box office leader, American Gangster. Coincidentally, American Gangster was also directed by Scott, marking the second time the pair has achieved box office success together.

As Gladiator II continues to perform well, Washington’s career box office earnings have now surpassed $4.8 billion, a testament to his enduring appeal. If the sequel maintains its strong momentum, it could push his total earnings beyond the $5 billion mark. Of the $4.8 billion, $2.6 billion has been earned in domestic markets, underscoring Washington's global popularity and reach.

Behind Gladiator II and American Gangster, Washington’s next highest-grossing film is the 2012 action-thriller Safe House, which grossed $207 million worldwide. Close behind is Philadelphia, which earned $201 million and solidified Washington as one of Hollywood’s most respected dramatic actors.

Washington’s consistent box office success is also reflected in the Equalizer franchise, with all three films earning close totals around $190 million each.

While he’s clearly a box office draw, Washington has recently revealed that Ryan Coogler is writing a role for him in Black Panther 3. Given the enormous success of the first two Black Panther films, it’s possible that this upcoming project could ultimately become his highest-grossing film to date.
