IN A recent appearance on the Naked Beauty podcast, renowned stylist Law Roach opened up about his profound partnership with Zendaya and how she has championed him throughout their decade-long collaboration. Law first began styling Zendaya when she was a teenage Disney star, and together, they have emerged as one of Hollywood's most iconic fashion duos.
While Law is best known for his work with Zendaya, he has also styled other high-profile figures, including Sir Lewis Hamilton, Celine Dion, and Bella Hadid. His close ties extend to Zendaya’s inner circle, working with her boyfriend, Tom Holland, and Euphoria co-star Hunter Schafer.
During the podcast, Law reflected on the deep bond he shares with Zendaya, stating, “Even as a young girl, she has always advocated for me to be in every room.” He noted the rarity of a stylist being included in conversations about deals, emphasising that Zendaya has consistently ensured his voice is heard, even in challenging situations.
“She would be in meetings where people tried to make me feel invisible,” he recounted. “And she would say, ‘What did you say again, Law?’ She made people respect my opinion.”
Law also highlighted Zendaya's commitment to his financial well-being, revealing that she has always ensured he is compensated fairly for his work. “People would say, ‘Oh, the rates are too high,’ and she’d respond, ‘Well, you gotta pay that rate,’” he explained. “Ultimately, to show someone you care, you need to change their financial situation—and that’s what she’s done for me.”
Throughout their partnership, Law has seen himself as Zendaya’s protector, big brother, and closest collaborator since 2011. “When people ask me what loyalty looks like, that’s the only thing I can think of,” he said.
He also touched on his advocacy for Zendaya during the early stages of her career when luxury fashion houses were hesitant to dress her.
Remarkably, he noted that despite Zendaya’s rise to stardom, she has never worn certain prestigious designers, such as Dior, Chanel, or Gucci, on the red carpet. “The first time she wore Valentino in public was when she had a contract,” he explained, underscoring the significance of standing firm against those who initially dismissed her.
