WILL Smith has shared a moving tribute to Quincy Jones following the legendary producer's passing at the age of 91.

Smith described Jones as the “true definition of a Mentor, a Father and a Friend” who “checked me when he needed to.”

Jones was instrumental in the success of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, serving as the executive producer and composer for the iconic sitcom that launched Smith's career. Reflecting on their relationship, Smith stated, "He pointed me toward the greatest parts of myself. He defended me. He nurtured me. He encouraged me. He inspired me. He checked me when he needed to. He let me use his wings until mine were strong enough to fly."

Quincy Jones, celebrated for his work with music legends like Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra, passed away on Sunday, as confirmed by his publicist.

With nearly 30 Grammy Awards and multiple Oscar nominations, Jones left an indelible mark on the music and film industries. He is survived by seven children, including actress Rashida Jones.
